Ingrid Frivold is a Norwegian trumpet artist of a mixed Sami and Norwegian background that works in a variety of approaches and strategies in the areas overlapping music, sound art and noise. With a Mmus in performance studies from Trinity College of Music, London.

With over 30 years of experience as a live and recording artist, with acts such as Beglomeg, that received the Spellemann award where Ingrid was the first out trans person to be a recipient (the Norwegian «Grammy»), performing with the Frank Znort Quartet at their regular hub at Blaa in Oslo as well as around the world, Ingrid has amassed a large array of experiences to draw upon in her performances.

As a solo artist, besides doing concerts outdoors, at festivals and clubs, Ingrid has also been doing music for theaters, and participated in residencies around Europe, as well as exploring performing live in ambisonic environments.

Under the guise of Frvldz Ingrid extends the borders of expression and liberation of self. Exploring spaces and ambiences, she uses the room, her voice and her trumpet creating dissonances of sounds to provoke deeper thought and walls of harmonies that cleanses her audiences spiritually and emotionally.

Ingrid has also made herself a name as a leading trumpet-players and soloist incorporating extended techniques in her performance in her solo-work, and her control of sound, leading to appearing with various artist from Norway and beyond on stage and recordings.
